  Welcome to Reach Out Lakota

 News and Events

Reach Out Lakota is a non-profit, ecumenical, community-sponsored organization that gives eligible families in West Chester and Liberty Township food and clothing, as well as paper, cleaning, baby, personal care and household items. No one can predict a layoff, a fire, or unfortunate event. The economic downturn and cost of fuel has caused a financial crisis on some families who have never before had to ask for aid.  We help our neighbors who have fallen on hard times. We also provide referrals to other agencies when additional assistance is required. Over 1,000 pieces of clothing and 18,000 pounds of food are given away monthly.

Hours for Services: Mon 5-7 pm, Wed. 10-noon, Fri 10-noon

In addition to our regular year-round work, we provide three special programs:

Thanksgiving Program
Frozen turkeys are given as well as the items necessary to make Thanksgiving dinner.

Christmas Program

Large food baskets are given to families as well as having gifts for the mothers to select for their children.

Shop at IKEA, Support Adopt-a-Child Program

Reach Out Lakota is helping families in need provide gifts for their children this Christmas season through the annual Adopt-a-Child program. We expect to provide gifts to approximately 1,000 local children this year. You can help by purchasing a soft toy at IKEA and dropping it in the donation box at the store. Any soft toys collected by December 5 will be given to Reach Out Lakota for the Adopt-a-Child program. Thank you for helping make the holidays brighter for those who need a helping hand this Christmas.

Back to School Program
Our Back to School Program prepares pre-qualified local children in need for a successful school year by providing them with new school supplies, free health screenings, and puts families in touch with school resource programs such as the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Over 400 Lakota School children took part in this program last year.

Thank You for Your Support!
We are supported through donations from local churches, businesses, schools, service organizations and individual gifts. Additional support is generated through periodic fund raisers.
