Volunteering Information

Volunteers are crucial to the success of Reach Out Lakota’s mission to help our neighbors who are struggling to meet basic needs. Thank you for your interest in helping out and learning more about becoming a volunteer! There are many ways you can volunteer to support Reach Out Lakota.

Hosting a food or clothing drive or serving on a committee is currently the best way to volunteer to help our mission.

Ways to Volunteer

During Client Service Hours

Who: Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

What: Volunteers sort donations, pack food, assist in our clothing pantry

When:  Reach Out Lakota is open for client services on:

Mondays from 4:30-7pm

Wednesdays from 10am-Noon

Fridays from 10am-Noon

 

Sorting When Pantry Is Closed

Who: Age restrictions are task dependent.

What: Sort donations received at our building or pick up donations/supplies

When: Most sorting/pick up is done on:

Tues: from 9:30-11:30am

Thurs: from 9:30-2pm

Saturdays:  Selective dates from 10-12pm

 

Special/Seasonal Programs

Who: Age restrictions dependent on tasks.

What/When:     Hours and locations vary

Committees/Special Skills

Help us develop our connections and services by serving on a committee. Includes areas such as marketing, fundraising, development and more. Or, consider helping with periodic needs such as minor landscaping and light building maintenance as needed. Contact questions@reachoutlakota.org for more information.

 

Food/Clothing Drives

Hosting a food or clothing drive is a great way to collaborate with Reach Out Lakota and can be done around your schedule. Learn more about donation drives here.

 

Student Service Hours

Students can earn service hours by any combination of the above listed volunteer options. The most flexible option is by hosting collection drive. Click here for the Student Volunteer Application.

 

Youth Groups

Looking for a way to involve youth groups like Scouts, sports teams, or classrooms? Contact questions@reachoutlakota.org to learn about options.
